| Ruth
Owen has been working with rescue dogs for over twenty
years via fostering, rehabilitating and rehoming. Although she has
extensive experience of working with all breeds of dogs Ruth specialises
in bull breeds and shares her home with a number of these dogs.
Ruth has spent many years helping dogs with aggression
problems and has successfully worked with many poorly socialised
dogs to achieve rehabilitation and rehoming, she has her own large
pack of dogs that live with her and play a large part in the process
of integrating under socialised and/or aggressive dogs.
Ruth runs her behaviour practice from her centre in
The South Hams where she sees clients for all manner of behaviour
rehabilitation and one to one training. She also keeps sheep and
is able to work with dogs that have livestock chasing issues.
A permanent full time training centre with indoor
facilities is in the planning stages which will offer classes for
dogs of all ages and levels of ability. The centre should be fully
functional by the end of 2010 and offer a range of learning activities,
training and socialising facilities.
Ruth is a member of the Guild
of Dog Trainers, and currently studying with Cambridge
Institute of Dog behaviour & Training for a BA in Canine
Behaviour.
