Dr. Peter Kertesz MRCVS BDS CDSRCS Eng is a practising Dental Surgeon in Central London. Qualified at King's College Medical and Dental School, London in 1969 as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, University of London, and Licentiate of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England. Peter has owned many dogs and cats and has learnt a good deal about dog training and related behaviour through his association over 20 years with Colin Tennant. Peter makes regular appearances on television in Briatain and throughout the world and features in many series on animal care, treatement and has worked with some of Britian's top Veterinary Surgeons.

In 2003 he was elected as Honorary Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for special services to veterinary science and the veterinary profession. He is the only Dental Surgeon who has ever had the honour to have received such an award.

He has been involved in veterinary dental care since 1978 and founded ZOODENT International in 1985. He is dental consultant to the Zoological Society of London and the International Zoo Veterinary Group. Peter Kertesz is the author of “A Colour Atlas of Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery” which is the only book to thoroughly analyse and illustrate the dental needs and ethical dental treatment of domestic and wild animals. He has also published numerous articles on the subject and lectured worldwide.

The range of animals treated is very wide: aardvarks, all species of grate apes and numerous types of monkeys, elephants with molar and tusk problems, all the large cat and bear species, hyenas, hippopotamus, macropods, pandas, camelids, a wide range of bovids, equids, mustelids, orca, citeceans, chelonids and domestic animals.

He has worked with over 60 wildlife establishments in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Hungary, Israel, Russia, Greece, the Canary Islands, France, Portugal, Belgium, Estonia, Hong Kong, Iran and the Ukraine. His we site can be viewed here
