Jo grew up in a rural area surrounded by farms and livestock,in fact, many of her childhood years were spent watching the local farmer training his Border Collie; the relationship between man and his dog and their innate understanding of each other, Jo found fascinating. This inspired her interest in dog behavior and training.

Through owning a dog walking company she saw the true effects of canine behavioral problems. Some of her clients went to extreme lengths to ‘cope' with their dogs behavioral problems or to avoid situations which triggered them. From crating their dogs for entire days to locking them in the garden or leaving pages of notes and possible scenarios of what to do ‘should you meet another dog/person/livestock out walking'. Jo took the opportunity to educate the owners sharing her knowledge on dog behavior, needs and instinctive drives learnt from lifelong hands on experience of working with dogs and originally problematic horses. The feedback was always very positive, which spurred her to enrol with the CIDBT to further her understanding and gain credible qualifications in the field of Dog Behaviour and Training.

Jo currently runs Go Fetch It which offers both one-to-one behavioural counselling as well as individual and group dog training services. Her classes focus on teaching obedience combined with basic dog psychology so that owners can better understand how to ‘think dog' and prevent behavioural problems occurring at later stages. Jo has worked hard to build up her reputation locally and is recommended by numerous local vets.
