Jacqueline (known as Jaq) is a canine behaviour
specialist in Kent and the surrounding areas and has worked
with dogs for over 25 years. She
is one of few practitioners in the UK to hold a BTEC HNC
in Canine Behaviour and Training and is currently studying
Canine Behavioural Management at Advanced Diploma level.
Jaq runs a full-time professional consultancy called
'DogPsyche UK' which offers personalised advice and assistance
to clients referred by vets and personal recommendations
on a variety of canine behaviour problems through one-to-one
consultations. Although she
aims to help ALL dogs no matter what size, breed or type,
she is a specialist in the behaviour and training of
mastiff-types including the Neapolitan Mastiff, Great Dane,
Bullmastiff, and the Dogue de Bordeaux. She is also involved
in the rehabilitation of rescued dogs and has a rare
specialism in the behaviour and training of deaf dogs. Jaq
herself owns 3 rescued dogs, a deaf Great Dane, a Greyhound
and a Neapolitan Mastiff, and is the administrator for Neapolitan
Mastiff Welfare.
Jaq also runs unique 'Puppy Clubs' and 'Youth Clubs for Dogs'
providing an environment where socialisation and habituation
are the main focus alongside basic training. She
believes in providing owners with the information necessary
to help them to raise a well-balanced, emotionally stable
dog, covering subjects such as canine communication, training
using positive techniques and generally understanding their
dog on a much deeper level.
Jaq is also a writer, photographer and
commercial artist. She is currently writing a book on the
training and behaviour of deaf dogs and has recently finished
assisting with illustrations for a major new publication
on canine aggression, drawing on her knowledge of canine
behaviour to adequately portray canine body language.
