Jacqui O'Brien is a qualified
Advanced Instructor with the British Institute of Professional
Dog Trainers [BIPDT]. She is a member of its Board of Governors
and was made a Fellow of the BIPDT in 1996. She operates her
behaviour practice in Hertfordshire alongside her training
school.
She has been
involved in dogs since the early 1960's owning Golden Retrievers,
Cocker Spaniels, German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, training
and competing in Obedience, Working Trials, Cold Game and
Water Tests, Agility, and in the Breed Ring.
She has been
instructing since 1969 in a variety of disciplines - from
teaching puppy good manners through to higher levels of competition,
especially concentrating on the owner- dog partnership and
the owners understanding of canine behaviour.
After a successful
career in cellular and molecular research with the publication
of several scientific papers, Jacqui turned to dog training
and has put about 4000 dogs through her training and behaviour
classes over the last 35 + years.
