After a career
with horses, Fiona Whelan was initially employed
by the RSPCA as a re-homing co-ordinator and later as a Branch
Secretary.
During this time she extended
her interest into other species particularly canines. After
studying Animal Science and Kennel and Cattery Management
at De Montfort University, Fiona opened her own training and
behaviour establishment in Lincolnshire.
In 2002, Fiona joined Dr Roger
Mugford at the Animal Behaviour Centre. Fiona is now the head
trainer, centre manager and behaviour specialist.
A regular contributor in veterinary
publications as well as being a popular speaker at veterinary
congresses, Fiona has three dogs of her own; a Doberman mix
and two Australian Cattle Dogs as well as three horses and
two rescue ex-battery hens.
